enjoy the silence

Photo: Robert Stadler

"I think the devil has made it his business to monopolize on three elements: noise, hurry, crowds...Satan is quite aware of the power of silence."

I challenge you to spend the next 5 minutes in silence -- "unplug" from your electronics, turn out the lights, close the door and simply stop whatever it is you're doing -- and then just sit and bask in the silence. I think it's safe to say that God is at work even when we're not.

not gonna lie... its rarely quiet around our house... tv is usually blaring. if not, the iHome is.

tonite, before dinner, we turned the tv off. the kids helped get dinner ready. we sat down at the table and it was the most peaceful meal we've shared together.

it was good.

even as i type this, it is silent. the only noise is my expressive thoughts, put to text as my fingers hit each key.

silence. we all crave it more than we know.
